Homefront Rising: Opportunities for Housing and Jobs

Picture
The Veterans Project welcomes Gold Star Mom Nadia McCaffrey to Southern California. In honor of her son Patrick, who was killed in 2004 while serving in Iraq, Nadia has devoted herself to helping military veterans transition back into civilian life. After living many years in Tracy, CA, Nadia has decided to relocate to Long Beach, and help The Veterans Project expand its new Homefront Rising initiative. The effort combines jobs and housing for veterans. Click here for more info.

Southern California production companies affiliated with the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) are offering veterans 3-month paid internships. The Veterans Project conducted interviews on October 26, 2012, and select applicants will soon be invited to meet with industry executives looking to hire. Click here for more info.

Our next Stand Down will be held on Saturday, November 17th at Oakwood Recreation Center in Venice. More info coming soon. Veterans pre-register here, service providers here.
